  • Am I ever going to find the right car?

Well another car viewed and another return journey with no purchase.
Went to look at another escos yesterday, I was really hopeful on this one, sounded so promising, 2 owners low miles kept in a carcoon, I was really excited.
Within 5 minutes of looking at the car I knew it wasn't for me, it wasn't that it was a bad car, there was just too many little things I didn't like and would need resolved.

I'm beginning to think am I being too fussy, I know they are going on 15 years old but I do know the right car is out there somewhere.

Awell the search goes on once again.

Apologies for the nagging I'm just slightly frustrated at the mo!!!!

    Cheers,
    Ian

It is frustrating but nothing wrong with being fussy when spending this amount of cash

Why not list exactly what you would like and for what money and if anything gets heard on the grapvine will give you a shout

Ive already started a thread a few weeks back but nothing as come of it as yet, heres a quick refresh of what I'm after.

      Red or Imperial blue
Ideally less than 50,000 miles (but not essential if condition is right)
Don't really have a budget, but I reckon I should get a good car for £16k or so!!!
      As standard as possible

I know this is the spec everyone is after so I will just have to hold out!!!!

You will get a nice car for £16k but IMO it will still need some small jobs doing, maybe you either need to up the budget or be prepared to get a few niggling jobs done.
They shouldn't be big jobs and you will start to get to know the car if you do a little work on it

I'd be really interested to know the sort of things that are putting you off them mate, then we might be able to get a better view of whether you are being 'too picky'.
Even spending £16k you're not going to get one that literally needs nothing doing to it, even if it's just a manky gear gaiter, worn out heat shield and/or a scuffed wheel or something. At the end of the day they're an old second hand performance cars.

But like I say, I'd be interested to know what you didn't like, because obviously there is still a lot of crap out there.
          Cheers

put wanted ads on all the sites,i dropped lucky with my current one as the owner wasnt looking to sell till he saw my wanted ad and that i had the cash sat there waiting for the right car,so this got him thinking and a deal was done, you cant beat a wad of cash to change peoples minds lol
like mat says,16k should get you a nice usable example that will just need a bit spending on it to get it up to your standards, but this can be done over the next few yrs of ownership,i dont think anyone would ever get one that ticked all the boxes unless you pay big concourse money
