thought it was time to put a proper thread up to say a proper hello and show you guys a pic or two of my escort

this is the first cossie i have owned, had a s1/s2 and a frs in the past but this is my first cosworth, always wanted one since i was 18.

dunno if some of you remember craig H put a thread up a few months back re " jap import anyone", so after a few emails with the company that was selling it and a chat with guru mark cossiecrazy -(cheers mate)

decided to bite the bullett and go for it, managed to secure the car a day before someone over in japan was going to view the car.

whole process took about 7/8 weeks, 5 of them was when the car was on the boat, its seen a good few ports on the way over lol, egypt, lebanon, cyprus, greece, italy , spain, rotterdam and then into newcastle.

so hired a van and went down to the docks to pick the car up, since had it mot'd , and put a new alarm and immob on it, registered with the dvla and plates have been made up and are now on the car.

whaletail is away getting painted this week, hopefully getting it fitted next week, sold my morettes and my cone filter already, got standard box to go back in, orig lights have been put back in aswell, just want it looking standard.

its been lowered already, taking those springs off, getting a set of origs of a mate for feck all , getting them powder coated and then they are going on.

few other things to do, but they can wait till the start of next year.

here are a few pics, hope yous enjoy

    at the docks

again thanks to mark and paul aka paulb for helping me out

hope to catch up with a few of yous at some shows next year

great little story and it looks like it was worth all the effort.

Just out of interest was it cheaper than buying one from the UK?

I am sure if I remember the original advert it was outrageously cheap for a sub 30k mile car
