  • Rip+ dad - we will miss you very much

As a few have been asking me today why my sudden intrest in a RS500.

My Father Passed away Sunday night after a long battle with his illness's, he went peacefully but very quickly in
Hospital, unfortnately it was in the middle of the night so we could never have know to be there.
we all had seen him in the lead up to sunday, so we are happy..

Some may or may not know my Father restored and ran Steam Engines as a Hobbie.

he was a mechanic by trade which progressed onto to being a Transport Manager in later life.

Dad and i were out one day when a Black Sierra Cosworth Came behind us, over took us and dissapeared !!.

And i said " ONE I WILL HAVE ONE OF THOSE " Dad Said to me " ONE DAY SON ".

My Dad was currently restoring a second steam engine as he already owns one in his garage.
I love them but cars are really my thing, we as a family are planning to sell one engine as we just dont have the knowledge or skill dad did to finish the restoration.

My self and My Brother are going to maintain the finished one, that will never leave the family ! its fantastic simple engineering !

Dad knows i have always wanted a Black RS500 and he even said if you sell one engine, you had better buy one with the money when i am gone.

I thought it would never happen !!!!!!! But here we are, so thats why next year i will start looking
for my Dream Cosworth !, Dont think for a min the Escos is Going, Thats staying too !!

Its just a shame my dad will not be here to enjoy it with me :-(

But its not just being bought for me, its a memory to my Father and will be used only a handfull of times a year to shows and club meets.

He belived in keeping rare breads of engineering alive, and the RS500 Is just that !

    Love you DAD x x x

really feel for you mate, but it's really nice to see your keeping one of his steam engines in the family
and that your also getting the 500 in memory to him.

I hope the 500 brings you every happiness and good thoughts about your dad everytime you see it and drive it.
