I thought this aswell I tried to book a place at an event called Classics on the Common this year and they told me to bugger off as the car wasn't yet 25 yrs old

Both my 3dr and Saph are on a classic policy, i was told they needed to be 15years+ to qualify. I suppose different companies have different rules though.

HIC do I spoke to them about putting an RS4 on a cherished policy as the car was on a 2001 plate. All the same benifits of classic but for a newer car.

I Think Paul at need2insure will be your best bet though

                        Hi,

No I drive a company car as my main car so have zero years NCB etc.

I do have a valuation from the reg but Hagerty did not need this as they value the car at the price I put on it!

I thought it a bit strange that they didn't want an official valuation . As long as you supply photos of the condition then they are happy with that.

I am 40, no points, no claims etc.

                        Pete

Just got a quote from need to ensure: £358 with a 1500 mile per year policy.
Although I have 6 years no claims they said it wasn't needed, is this right?
Pretty delighted with that to be honest as the next closest quote was £750.

Thanks for all your help guys.

Glad you are happy with the quote.

Classic policies fall into vehicles over 15yrs old, however due to the fact i own an Escos we have got a scheme that covers all Escort Cosworths, there is some stipulation on age of client and useage but as above you do not need to use any no calims bonus on the policy as this should really be being used on your everyday car.

                              Hope this helps
