how often do you use your cossies

hi folks - newbie here

just wondering if anyone out there uses their escorts on a weekly basis, or are they all tucked away garage queens.

got an eye on two small turbo cars at the moment, as far as i know the engine has not been modded, would be covering 50/70 miles a week max, wouldnt be getting left in any public car parks.

was initially thinking of tucking it away in the garage for summer use only, but i am swaying in using it more.

would you or wouldnt you ??, all hints tips, guides appreciated

If I didn't have other cars then I would consider using it everyday, but sadly mine is tucked in the garage and comes out once a month if I'm lucky.

Your best bet is to buy on condition and history, you shouldn't get any more problems than any other normal car using it everyday, my dad used to use a sapphire cossie as an every day drive for many years without any major problems, just general wear and tear.
The only other thing to consider is the cost of replacement parts, and some are hard to find these days

Local Group meetings, shows, and the occasional weekend or evening. All weather permitting of course, and it gets declared sorn for 6 months over winter.

Insurance is limited to 3,000 a year but it will probably be more like 1,500.

I've got a ST Escort & use it every week, atleast twice in the week & at weekends.I do about 50 miles a week generally, I do use it less in the winter due to other drivers & crappy weather not because of any other reason.

put it this way - after all the hard work sorting , cleaning, or resto ing in my case that everyone does to make their cars as nice as poss - I wouldnt take it out in the rain !!! only sunny days for mine !

I only done 246miles last year but plan to use it more this year. Ive had it 5 years and done 7000 mils in it.

had mine 2.5 years and done about 8,000 miles but that does include a trip to lemans and back.

never goes out in the rain, only use for pleasure, other than that its tucked up in the garage nice and warm

and I'd never use it everyday i'd be too shit scared of parking it anywhere
