  • Bonus ball raffle allowed to be advertised on the forum?

    Question for mods???

I am seeing if there is interest in a bonus ball raffle like people have been doing on Facebook

Is this allowed on this site?

It's for my life racing Ecu and cosworth raychem loom

    £44 a ticket

    Thanks
    Marc

that's a good question, my only issue would be if we could be held responsible as it was advertised on here should anything go wrong.

59 numbers as per national lottery draw

Sell all numbers to whoever wants one, can buy as many as you like

Once all numbers have sold and all money has been paid, via cash, PayPal gift or bank transfer , I post up a list of who has which number for everybody to see,

Then the bonus ball from the next live lottery draw either a Saturday or Wednesday will be the winning number and I will deliver or courier the items to them within 48 hours

That way there's no possible way to cheat as the ball is drawn on the lottery on tv for everybody to see, no scamming etc

I think there a great idea if you can get the numbers

For example my loom and Ecu with £44 a ticket gives me £2600 which is great for me but whoever gets a life racing Ecu and loom for £44 has the bargain of the century so it's worth a punt to a lot of people for less than the price of a night in the pub

Sorry - it's a form of gambling and you/we would need a licence. We fall under the social media category as a discussion forum, Fb remove them when they are spotted or reported.

                    As above.

Even if it was allowed, it would be a move towards de-valuing our cars.

I.E. How can a rare & classic Escort Cosworth be a £ 24,000 (plus) collectable car, when it is also a "win it for £ 40 quid car?

                      Ok no problem, just asking,

L8 ECU - think your getting the idea abit wrong mate as if you wanted to raffle an escort cossie and you wanted 24k you would have to sell the tickets at £407 each!

A raffle doesn't de-value anything, car or otherwise, the price you want is divided by 59 if it's done like the lottery bonus ball

                      Thanks

No problems, probably best just to advertise the parts normally as that is quite a specific piece of kit and getting all numbers allocated would be a ball ache even if it was allowed.

If the item is priced right it'll sell using normal adverts.

I think they're great ideas! I entered one a while back for a car, was fun! Though I didn't win, only 20 quid ticket though!

I'm sure that one ended in tears on the M3cutters website, or may have been the evo register.
