  • Living with a Cosworth

I've been using my Escort for almost 3 years as my only transport, I'm so proud of it. I wasnt sure how it would take to being used every day come rain or shine but its proved totally reliable.

When I first got it I rebuild the turbo and cylinder head, and down graded from a 380 MSD chip with greys to a 340 chip on greens. Its just the perfect car, for me anyway. I fitted a AP paddle clutch and hydro clutch set which transformed the car, as well as some AP calipers and discs. None of which has ever given me grief.

Every six months I tend to pull the dizzy cap off and de-fur the poles, cheack the leads, it goes through a set of plugs every two years and gets oil and filter every 12 months. Its just so damn reliable.

    I'm just so pleased! lol

I spent the whole day driving around Devon and Corwall today, windows down, kids in the back, just faultless. Just turned 97,000 miles, I do about 20K a year in it and cant wait for the next 97k.

    Happy motoring everyone.

Kind of true I guess, every MOT it has its always commented how rust free and generally clean it is. It lives out side but starts on the turn of the key every day without fail.

Love them and they love you back......keeping them clean and locked away is not loving them, it's cruel like keeping a tiger in a cage

Each to there own but i could not have mine as a everyday even if i wanted. Working on building sites and having to park in feilds and rough ground ect would just kill it.

I quite agree, driving over rough ground and parking in fields. What you really need is a 4wd rally car....oh hang on a minute.....
