  • help please relaistic prive on my cossie project

i dont want too but i have too now

basically in 12 months im going to lose my garage and ill have no where to put the car or work on it to finish it, ive always done my work at my parents but they will be selling up next year now, but today my dad got admitted to hospital with some serious conditions and i dont want the extra stress of this around anymore, plus its not fair on them having cars everywhere and parts in the house so its time to let it go, gutting ina way as i had everything planned out and was on target until the issue with my dad

its still pretty much as it is in my project thread, a shell with a rear beam, but does require somepanels painted now due to storage and making mistakes

but has the rear beam fitted with a supra diff new bushes etc, new glass, its all sealed etc, i also have the rear wheels as well now 10x18 et0 to fill the arches

last time as a bare shell i got offered 5750 was up for 6k, but since then i spent almost another 3k on it with the diff and all other bits being done

so what do i advertise it up for? im not expecting my money back ive put over 15k into this thing ideally ineed to see at least 7k or close to it, but unsure what to advertise it for now as i dont honestly know its true value

Fully trimmed shells with no running gear seem to be 9 to 14k, so depends what exactly (as in everything) you have to go with it. From above I'd say 7 to 8k, but there are others on here who watch the prices of parts and shells more than I do.

Good luck with it - if you put it on ebay do it as a classified advert as it avoids the messers.

      just seen this:

      http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1993-FORD-...AAAOSwMtxXubYt

more of a complete car so perhaps put yours at half that - depends if you need a quick sale.

ideally the quicker the sale the better, obviously be good for someone who has a rotten saf as then be a very cheap car for them

gutted but i have to think of my family, if parts were resonable and easily sourced then things wouldnt be so bad with it

The fact the shell has been modded so much is probably putting 95% of the people who'd want the car off.

It's certainly put me off as I would have bought it when it was originally put up for sale if it hadn't been so extreme.

I'm sure there's someone out there for the car though but it could take some time to find them.

Have you got it advertised elsewhere?

lost me when it was originally up for sale?

its only ever been up for sale like this anyhow

cant see what so off putting considering i have the wheels for the rear arches and just needs running gear, and a custom mount if running a std gearbox, not rocket science to make

It is pretty bespoke looking Rich, that shell has been very customised and that will only appeal to a certain percentage of buyers. Just look at the wanted ads for what folk are looking for.

true i do agree with that

but its so hard to actually pictire the shell with tiny wheels under it and nothing on it

ive had an offer from my friend that him and his mate are willing to finish building it for me then sell it and go halves on the car when its sold, but im unsure wether thats still worth doing or not or what time scale

as if they do it and its all finished soon not a problem, but if they do it and ive finished the evo i could sell the evo and buy them out of the escort leaving me the escort but id only sell it anyhow lol andits wether they build it to my standard

                        that'd be my concern.

Sorry, I should have said 'initially' put up for sale. Didn't mean to confuse you.

It's the fact that it'll take a lot of work to put the shell back to a std arched car, that's what I think is putting people off. I'm not knocking the car, it looks to be very well done but it's a very limited market you're aiming at, especially on here where 99% of the owners have, externally at least, pretty std looking cars.

Tbh the car should of benefits a long time ago anyhow hence the quarters and modifications are done. But I've nevery benefits one for standard cars no matter what they are lol. Thing is no one can know how it's going to look until it's built either
