Steering coupling rebuild

Hi Everyone.

Ive searched the forum as much as I can but I cant find any details.

I need to have my steering coupling rebuilt as the lower UJ has started to give up. I cant find any kits for sale and all the gpr4 ones from GG don't fit.

Anyone know anywhere to get these rebuilt? I got a second hand one but its no better than the one I have already.

Well I found a place in Cornwall that does them. Only trouble is, as with most places in the UK these days its rubbish. On getting it back there is more play in the UJ's than there was in the old worn out ones. And the ones which dont have play either have the dust seals missing or are so tight you cant move them.

So, asking again. Does anyone know where you can buy new steering couplings or have them rebuilt reliably?

So I ended up doing it myself.

For those who want to replace the steering coupling UJ's, I managed to get the correct UJ's from a company called Driveshaft Parts. The UJ needed is 15x40mm and their part number is UJ1540 (go figure). Total cost, £10.00.

Took me about an hour to replace both UJ's after cutting the old ones out of the coupling.
