Finding out the original build spec?

I'm sorry if this has been asked before but is there any way of finding out the original spec of the car from the chassis number or something.
I'm a little unsure if my car is a genuine Monte so wanted to find out.

I know you can work out the build month and year, can you work out the actual build day too?

Some great info on here but a bit confused now. Agar after putting my vin info in it lists that my car is a Lux version but I always thought Lux versions had electric mirrors, sunroof and leather and mine has non of these, confused! Is mine a motorsport version?

Don't think etis is accurate as it has mine down as leather. I'd like it but it hasn't

Sorry guys. Didn't realise that it was a bit hit and miss. It came up with the correct spec for both escorts I've owned.
