yes +modding to fit, need to be opened and uprated to handle higher rpm gearchange+++ good Box, but need some work too... it is on the table, but the best for him would be a t5 kit, he was going for one, but his Box was damaged in transport, and the price had gone up allot after the deal was agrreed... so he looking for alternatives now, since lost allot of Money allready...
Everything has a breaking point, but at 600bhp you're more likely to break it quicker. Would still favour the TKO box though, proven to take the abuse. And I don't mean by Rod and his 300 miles every 10 years Saph
yes tko is absolutly a option, but need to mod Shell(gearstick hole), and need to uprate that too to keep up With reving yb vs low rpm v8 the Box is made for... not sure why, but before the tko was a very popular Box here for the cossies, but later years fewer have used them...
how much futher forward is the tko shifter? have heard 34mm and then maybe it can be possible to move the engine to the holes behind on crossmember to compansate?
yes but the getrag dont grow on trees... and they do break too, and hard to get parts, and expensive... I know I have one...
and 1:1 top gir, long first, no speedo++ dont make it "ideal" for normal driving..
Not in the 300- 550 HP cosworths I saw.. Trust me when I say in a works 3dr group a Cosworth a getrag was fit and forget.
Makes me laugh when people spend a fortune on a Cosworth and use a road car gearbox
yes they are strong, but it have been killed a few boxes over here... i knew of a man having 2 broken ones, and one off the rallyx boxes(old Gunnar kittilsen rs500) i know of now, have twisted inputshaft have been sitting behind a 508bhp engine all its life... I will never give mine up if it breaks Down, it will be rebuilde no matter.
the reason for roadcarbox is that the car should be mainly road use...
