  • Sills

Finally got around to removing the sill covers on the Escos. I know the outers would need doing.....doubt they've ever been off to check in its life!
Well, wasnt good! but not as bad as i thought they'd be. My son came to have a look (my own bodyman/painter ) and he said they aren't that bad and will take about a day to do either side (inner and outer sills). So ordering them on Monday and now i've got to start stripping out the interior and take the doors off!!

    oh, the joys!!

Least when it's done it's done...and sounds like you got someone you can trust to do a good job of it so you'll be sorted when it's all back together again. The sills on the Mk5 Escort have always been a nightmare...had similar experience with old Escorts and RS2000s.

The prep work takes the most time but least doing it yourself you can take your time and know it's not someone else rushing it or pulling the seats apart etc.

Where you ordering the replacements from?

I'm making out it's worse than it really is
Told my Son i'd rather it was done right than done quickly!
He's ordering the parts through his works.....they're paying for them and i'll pass the money on.....get a bit of discount too

Gives me a chance to get a few other bits done and maybe sell some of the parts i've collected over the years to pay for it
