  • Surely it's beyond daft.......

........ to put 678 BHP in a front wheel drive Ford Focus RS

Probably quite reliable as the driver just won't be able to use the majority of it and when he does get his toe down it will surely just spin the wheels rather than put any load through the engine

So not for me but it is quite amusing to see the nutty things some people do lol

Anybody any idea what an engine build like that would cost ??

These new ecu's they are using on these focuses seem very advanced reducing wheel spin etc 15k plus easy

That ECU must be very busy then lol as it must spin the wheels in every gear

Think i'd be a bit upset if i'd payed all that for a high powered engine and the ECU kept turning it down all the time Better to tune the engine to the optimum of what traction is available......would be a quicker more driveable car to my way of thinking

I've had more fun in high power fwd cars than rwd.
              Find fwd alot more forgiving.

it is a bit much however its the same with RWD cars, they have way too much power too, they break traction easy too.

Our ST stage 1 is terrible to drive fast its always cutting the power on corners and is even worse in the wet

I used to own a series two Rs turbo escort running a gt30 turbo, that thing was fast around 350hp and felt as quick as my old stage 3 cossie.
