I give up, at the end of the day it's proven if you don't use the top plate the diff will twist more and rip the floor. Pics are on pf somewhere, it's not a secret, just go look. If you solid mount the diff and have movement in the beam pulling and pushing against it'll shatter like the pics below. Anyone can take it or leave it, but for me the supra conversion has proven to be ten times better than a Cossie diff and with a billet cover it'll be even better. Again fully proven by big power supra owners in the states who have done the same without any further failures.

If 9" Ford Motorsport diff was reasonable money I'd have one..
Supra diff £170
Fitting kit £495
Second diff £185
Billet cover £280
Total £1130
More than I'd have liked the setup to cost admittedly but the £1000 Gripper I had before would break crown wheel and pinion or snap the pinion shaft so needed upgrading.
However am still under the £3000+ for the 9" although have been looking into the Ford 8.8 set up but can't find anyone offering fitting options, just have a few pics of the Godfrey set upsigpic

But if you have below 450 bhp then I doubt you'll need the billet cover and just the kit as it issigpic
