  • Help cosworth or no cosworth

What is it with these cars escort cosworth.
Throughout my life I've had 2 red escos and a white shell and now turbomooks shell .but the problem is the same with all of them .when I hadn't got 1 I'd give my left arm for 1 and had to have 1 .then when I get 1 I lose interest so quickly and think about selling on which I have done and each time I go for months years without a second thought of ford's .then it comes back and have to have .but as I'm only a normal bloke so missus tells me .the way there going now in price I cud never afford another again if I sell up again .and with this 1 it doesn't make a difference it's a trimmed shell or driving interest is gone even though I was really looking forward to getting it home .now it's in the shed I can't be arsed .argh rant over .thoughts please

I'm the same mate, I lust after something for ages until I can afford it then once I have it I loose interest.

The weather at this time of year doesn't help with motivation either. As soon as the sun's out and you see your first Cossie on the road you'll be straight back in the garage tinkering with yours

You have to build it, it won't ake you much time to sort it and get it on the road.

Try and do as soon as you can as the longer it takes you will lose eve more interest in it.

I don't really loose interest in mine, but then I don't tend to spend anything on it really - I just use it when time allows.

I've had to sorn mine at the moment, first time for years, as I have lots of decorating to do at home and I find that if the is available i'll be tempted to use it if it's pretty dry out.

Yeah I agree lads.but as it's a hobby itl take time as priorities at the moment is Xmas then wedding etc plus only just put up a small shed by myself and need to do floor next before I can work on the escos .I do love ford's and that's all I ever had up until a few years ago when I had subaru .evos.m3.m5 and just had a bmw 760 Li with 489bhp and I think getting out of that comfort and gadgets for a basic ford lol put a nail in the coffin lol.but I have found myself standing in the shed a few times this week just staring at the car .bit mad I think .

Wish I had a small shed like that!

Just leave it there and as the interest takes you do a bit, that's one I'm doing with mine. I think I get more enjoyment out of fiddling with mine than ever driving it, because to be honest there's a lot better driving cars now, but there will never be anything that a 'normal' person can afford that looks as mad as an Escort Cossie.
                  Cheers

I think its the thought of spending money 24/7 that dampens the whole Cosworth thing, I go through days thinking of selling but I'll miss playing with it lol, had it out today too, since owning cosworths my hair is going silver, spray wax or oil under it and leave it till your ready Jason

The BBC should do a Horizon programme on these cars because without joking they do have a supernatural hold on certain individuals.
I'm no millionaire just a retired submariner who loves cars. Ive had 2 Cosworth Rally cars one driven as a road car in the end then another cosworth road car then Cayenne Turbo then 911 Turbo then my ESCOS as is it is now also an 08 Bentley continental GT Speed atm. They have had all, the electrical goodies in them and I shouldn't really ever miss a 1992 Escort. I hardly ever drive my ESCOS and wonder wtf I'm still doing with it but the mere thought of selling it brings tiny cramps in my stomach and chest. I know from past experience I will want another one in a years or two's time. TBH the prices are just going too high to fook about buying another in a few years so it seems the sensible thing t do is just keep it and enjoy the fact I have one.

I feel your pain buddy.. I literally think about selling mine everyday, so many other cars I would love to try ie MK2 Focus RS, E90 M3, B7 RS4 etc, but I just cannot be arsed advertising it and dealing wif all the bullshitters.
But deep down I just love my car, defo something about these things that just do it for me

Erm maybe I can be bothered to advertise, now for sale as I want to move on and try other things...you only live once
