Not seeing new posts

Hi guys,

each time I log in I always select "New Posts" to see anything new since I last logged out, but it doesn't seem to be working for me anymore.

For example, I just logged in, clicked "New Posts" and only 4 threads came up. Browsing through the forums, there's been more than 4 new threads since I last logged on at lunch.

It's happening on my work and home PC's. Any ideas what's up?

It should only come up with the posts that you have not viewed since the last time you logged on, it seems to work fine for me, I think its just a little quiet. If you want to view the Todays Posts, then click the Quick Links menu above and click Todays Posts in the drop down that appears.

As for the forum messages, I'm hoping Chas will get sometime to sort them soon, the board needs an upgrade

I missed that thread, I do notice though with the New Posts functionality (not just on this forum)

say if you log onto the forum select New Posts, read a few go away and come back a few hours later, if you then hit New Posts again, it won't bring up those threads you didn't read on the last visit.

does that sounds the same?

I'm having issues where most times when I post I get a double post, and everytime I reply I get a screen full of random code. Also if I edit a post and click save I just get the egg timer, I have to close the site & reopen to find my edit has been sucessful

Dave all of those issues are related to the board needing an upgrade or so I believe.

With regards to the edit functionality, I've found if you edit and then select the Go Advanced button and do the edit there and press save it works kind of normally other than those pesky error messages coming up.

I thought you were just trying to get your post count up with all the double posts

i've had a couple of occasions where i've struggled with the edit function and get the egg timer but if i refresh the page i can see my post...

I think that's slightly different from the problems me and Mark are having. If I go away for a few hours and come back, I'd not be surprised if I couldn't still see the new posts from before.

The problem we seem to be having is that when you log in for the first time in say a week, click "new posts", only a handful of results appear, whereas the reality is that there's been about 100 new posts.

ah right, so how do you view this forum, via phone mostly or via laptop/pc?

If via phone how do you close the page to the site, close the tab or just leave it open and close the browser? Just wondering if the phone is keeping the page so every time you go to the internet on the phone the first webpage it connects to is the last one which might happen to be the forum
