  • Driveshaft Question

I'm thinking of buying a pair of the extended Automotive Unlimited driveshafts, partly because I've knackered one of mine and partly because of the extended properties of them for lowered cars.

Now....on the adverts they say you can buy the shafts as a pair and they fit either side, now my front shafts definitely don't look the same to me on my small turbo. How does that work then?
    Cheers
    Trev.

yes use the same both sides... it is actually normal Sierra(xr4x4, 2.0doch 4x4) and Scorpio 4x4 shafts... thats why they are cheap

Stock one is litle Shorter, and no Clips, but no problem on lowered car

I haven't yet Mark. I need to do it because I need the joint off the end but it's being a real pain. I think I'm going to try drilling through it or cutting it somehow. It's determined not to move. I've bought another hub but I need some of the bits from the old shaft.
              Cheers

I've never had a shaft even that tight in a hub they normally fall out i would take the front hub and shaft off together and get it in a good vice or on a hyd press, if you ever come up to the midlands with work I'm sure i could sort it for you

It's all off the car Mark, it just won't free off from the knuckle. None of them fell out, they needed a pushing tool, but this one I've had so many tools on it. Angle grinder and big drill bit I think! It's coming out one way or another. As I say, the only bit I need now is the end joint, so I can get brutal with it. The end of the shaft is a real mushroom shape now, but it will not give in.
                    Cheers
