Hey chaps just thought id introduce myself ,

I currently own a considerably modified S1 RS Turbo but I'm really fancying an Escort Cosworth as I've wanted one since their release . I've decided now is the time to take the plunge and go for it . I made the mistake of not joining the S1 forum before I rather hastily rushed the purchase of my first S1 so not prepared to make the same mistake twice

Any hints and tips as to what I should be looking for would be very much appreciated in my search for the right car .

    Thanks

          Thanks or the welcome fellas

If I'm honest I'd prefer a big turbo model , either would do really as I'm not after mental power anyway . A stage 3 tuned car would suit me , can you achieve this on the small turbo cars ?

Welcome mate, if you are looking at stage 3 then you would be better off with a BT. I believe you can get 280bhp from a ST without too much trouble but any more is very costly.

No mate that would be sad

It's a nickname from when I served my apprenticeship at the local Ford Dealers , over 15 years and it's stuck

To be honest it's hard getting an Escort full stop, hope you find a good one.
Big turbo if you want to get big BHP but a nice escort is a nice escort big or small turbo.

If you like a pit of power definitely got to go stage 3.

I have switchable boost from 300bhp low boost to high boost, and 300bhp don't fill fast at all due to the car being smooth and a bit heavy so minimum stage 3 I think.

                          Si.

Thans again for the help and welcome lads , tbh thinking about it even a standard car would do me big or small turbo . The S1 is modded so no reason the Escos has to be really .

Any idea what I should budget for ? Seen the usual stuff on eBay going or 15k or there abouts is that about right ? I'm not searching for a concours mint low miler but a nice straight clean example .
