  • Paint work question.

If I was to look at getting the front end painted to get rid of road rash would a good painter be able to blend the paint in the doors or would it need to be painted all the way down the sides? The colour is mallard so it is pearlescent!
    Thanks.

Hello mate , yeah a painter can do this no problem , most of the time on a front end you'd flash over into the wings as the chips don't tend to go past the half way point so can blend the base & just clear coat the wings , how far do the chips go

I have some road rash on the bottom of the wings at wheel level and on the inner lip where they always suffer so wanted the whole wings painted before the rust starts but wasn't sure if a paint shop could base part of the door and then clear the whole door with mallard to blend it in or if I was looking at almost a respray!?

Personally, I'd have the paint shop get the full wings done to avoid any issues, after all, its worth it for the type of car getting done. Near all paint shops should be competent to match and blend these days. For example, my bodyshop had to sort my little accident the other month and went on to blend the quarter and bit of the bumper without any issues

Looks a nice job by the way. I understand it is achievable with normal colours but I'm not sure about metallic pearl colours (mallard green) and don't want to have someone try and it sticks out like a soar thumb!

Well in the unlikely event that happens, the solace is that if you're unhappy with the result then they have to correct until you are happy
