has anyone ever put a claim in for pothole damage? if so who do you go through/contact? this happended to the wifes fiesta zetec s today,we only had them resprayed last summer as well, she hit a massive pothole and weve took pics of it for proof, the 2nd pic is the rear wheel on same side which has flat spotted but obviously not got damaged as much as the front took the full impact its also destroyed a nearly new yoko as well

Think you need to get in touch with highways agency and find out who's responsible for that road. They'll let you know who to get through to.

Am sure there's something like it's already got to have been reported to them and they were aware of it and not fixed it for them to pay out or something along them lines

Take pictures of the pot hole & place a ruler across it so you can clearly see the size & depth

i put a claim in with the local council when a speed hump that was too high ripped off my bumper on my audi & they paid the £250 it cost to get fixed so yeh go for it, take picturs where it happened etc & just send them in with how much it costs for the repair & they should pay out no problem

I'm sure that's what knackered the spring on my Mondeo as well. The roads are terrible round here. What do we pay all this roadtax for?!
              Cheers

I put a claim In with the local council for my 2 n/s wheels when I hit a kerb stone that was sticking 6" out into the road. They paid for the refurb but I had to get it done then provide the receipt

I put a claim in about 3 years ago for a very similar thing on my Puma at the time and they wouldn't pay as they said it was due to the weather and wasn't their fault!. Go to the local council web site and I think there is a link there from memory.

just been reading up on it and it says i need to get reports via the freedom of information act of how often the road is inspected then put a claim in,then when its refused take it to court etc etc

Shit Nick that's a mess, I'm sure I read somewhere that councils have pretty much stopped paying out now as it's costing them too much. Their stance is take us to court, I think they're gambling on no one being arsed to go through the whole court thing

Hope you get somewhere though mate, the roads in the majority of this country are a fucking disgrace
