  • Best brake kit using standard wheels?

I'm intending on keeping the look of my cossie standard.
Although I havent driven it since purchasing it i'm pretty sure the standard calipers arent up to the job of slowing the 550 horses...
I really like the OZ 18"mags and if there arent any brake kits by the likes of AP racing etc that will fit then i will go down this route.
any info would be handy cheers

The only company that does a brake kit that fits under the standard wheels is Hi-spec, which does a slimline 6-pot kit with 310mm discs. Although this would be fine on the road, it would wilt with 550bhp on track, but then 550bhp with standard wheels and tyres is going to be pretty much undriveable anyway . Hilarious fun, but will be wanting to go sideways everywhere.

Nordschleife, there's only two barriers to worry about - the ones on the left and the ones on the right .

      Thanks for the quick reponse,
I do love track days but have specific track day cars and a few other road cars that are more suited for trackdays (m3 csl, 1M,) so i doubt it'l ever see hard track use if any- I dont really rate them as track cars tbh especially my new one as its in mint condition.
That all being said I would like to be able to use the power so good brakes will be essential,
Ive seen a Brembo kit off a saphire rally car on the cosworth breakers website and didnt know if they were a "one off" or just not correct etc?

If not i'll get onto hi spec, i'm sure with a decent disc and pad combo on the best kit available, i'll make it slow down?

      cheers Jamie

I looked into this a few years ago, I wanted a better brake set up behind the standard wheel, didn't want thicker discs on the hub spacing the wheel though.

I contacted hi spec, weren't helpfull and couldn't answer that question! so didn't bother.
Don't know if Tarox genuinely fit without spacing the disc though.
