  • what would a mk1 1300 gt be worth? pic,s added!!

well i went to price a job up tonight for a friend & in his garage the green 1973 escort 1300 gt, the one off the start of wheeler dealers, it has a 2ltr engine i think he said, its mint & solid underneith as he has sorted it out, x4 cibbies on the front, revoloution alloys etc, he,s changing the rear brakes to disc,s & sorting the engine so it runs spot on. he.s very anal so i know it will be done properly, & he says i can have 1st dibbs on it when it goes up forsale next year when he,s had a play in it on track, he says around the 10k mark? its not an rs but i must say its a loverly looking well sorted car, i will get some pic,s up when i go round to do his painting to see what you guys think

£10k seems a bit too expensive for that type of car however it may be in very good condition with the right bits on ect...though the rs and mexico cars selling for £15k upwards.

they do sell for decent money now.

I'm with Dave, 10k sounds a lot but if it's a minter and all the relevant trim parts are there it could be a good buy

heres a couple of pic,s he sent me, its going to the body shop to have all pannels etc lines up properly as he isnt happy with them & he is fitting the black mexico stripes on the sides, roof & boot lid but having them made without the mexico writing around the door handle, & like i say putting better brakes on & having the engine sorted so it runs perfect, he told me what he was doing to the engine but you know me i just smile & nod my head also it has recaro,s in but he,s fitting retro bucket seats & a new roof lining so should be a smart car when finished

I think it all depends on how good the body is, and it needs the chrome round the windows removed and proper headlights on but still looks

Well i had a mk1 1300 for sale for months

It was a superb solid shell with great gaps etc

                  all painted underside

not a great spec car , but still looked and went well

I gave it away as i had no interest

                  6k i got for it

What do u lot think this would be worth? It's got a new engine, mint unwelded shell, apart from 5 link boxes and bigger tunnel, original chassis number still present on top mount etc. LSD, coil overs etc. took it for mot and passed straight away, mot inspector said its the best one structurally he's mot'd since they were a few years old.
