Hi guys can you look at the pictures below and maybe answer a few questions for me please reference my gearbox.. its been out the car about 3 months and split from the engine while its rebuilt and been stored as per picture on blocks of wood so the center shaft dont touch the floor, its been fine for like 2 1/2 months, and a mate had a look changed a few gears then 2 days later all the oil had leaked out of it as per stain on the floor in picture...
Now i cleaned it all up and stood it up again to see where the oil was leaking from its coming out between the smooth outer shaft the release bearing slides on and the splined drive shaft ??? as per arrow in pic below..
In the picture below the electric connections are they for the reverse light switch ??
And lastly there seems to be some bit of damage on both the cast lumps on the side of the box what should be there or is that how they are see two pics below
So my questions are this guys
Q1 would you expect oil to come out the box in the way ive stored it or have i got a seal gone ??? what they like to do etc if i have ??
Q2 is the electical connection the reverse switch ??
Q3 what if anything is missing from the lugs on the box just looks a bit chewed up or odd to me thats all....
cheers for looking chaps
