Can't help but think that you may be disappointed with escos ownership

The escort has much more presence and character than the focus IMO but the focus is a much better drive as you would expect its 20 years newer lol

Totally different car which you can't compare mate , nearly 20 years of refinement makes the focus a better daily smoker without a doute , much much more comfort & all the toys make it a very nice place to be too

But for me owning an escort cosworth was a four filling a dream I had since the 1st time I spotted a red on parked up on the side of the rd, I was very lucky with my escort ( 99 WTF) it was a pleasure to own & never gave me any bother in over 11 years of ownership but if I'm honest & reading story's of other people's problems I think looking after it like it was a baby helped for sure ,
In my journey with RS cars I worked my way up to better cars so it was never a disappointment & was buzzing but I think its more than just buying a new car as it is for many newer RS owner , i think you could be a little shocked going from a mk2 focus to an escort tbh , you couldn't really drive one every day & expect to keep it mint with quick wash as you can with a focus , in a perfect world you can have both ,

I don't think a frs will ever be an icon like the Escos is now

the escoss was the Focus of its day and was the best money could buy , but now 20 years of technology has improved modern cars so much

The focus rs for me is the best RS money can buy ( IF YOU WANT A CAR TO USE )

The cars are totally different. As said above the Focus RS is more refined. I am lucky enough to have both. I use my Focus everyday. Just get in it and off you go. With the Escos it is more raw and you can feel every bump pothole or whatever. I love driving the Escos because of the difference. Plus the four wheel drive makes such a difference over the front wheel drive of the Focus.

Also said above I always dreamed of owning an Escos and now I have it I wouldn't part with it.

For a toy or investment the cozzeh is and always will be the . Still love all other RS's though. Give one a go and look after it and over a few years i doubt you will lose much. You may even end up in profit.

My sister has a mk2focus ( white ) in my opinion the only colour worth buying
Cracking car
Drives like my new van ( renault traffic ) with a rocket up its arse
Easy to drive etc.
Only a mate of mine has a mk1 xr2. Yes xr2
90 mph flat out but it's 90mph everywhere

i recon a 4x4 escos would need a good 500bhp to beat a focus with that power and even rear wheel drive i should imagine you would need 430+BHP the escorts are a pig with aero dynamics! i recon my old 390bhp saph would take it, due to a low front and no big spoiler on the back my escos has never been as quick as my old saph even with more power.
