  • Heat shielding options? what are you using?

I have dropped my engine in the car yesterday as i need to see where i need to heatproof on the drivers inner wing and bulkhead area, you can see in the photo below where needs doing

And another pic of the engine in showing where manifold is close ect, i may also have to cover the left hand x bar as its very close to the wastegate,

What i am not sure of though is what to use and what will look best???

I had thought about the Thermo-tec adhesive stuff which is expensive but very good i hear, i have also recently seen alot of people using the gold reflective adhesive backed stuff???

Any ideas please and also how much of the bulkhead do you think i should do and shall i do the full gearbox tunnel as well as obviously the exhaust will run along it

My biggest worry is it looking sh*t

    Thanks
    Marc

The silver withstands up to 200°C of direct continuous heat and reflects 1000°C of radiant heat:
                      2ft square = £35 + delivery
                      2ft x 1ft = £29 + delivery

The gold can withstand up to 450°C of direct continuous heat:
                      2ft square = £70 + delivery
                      2ft x 1ft = £39 + delivery
