Too many people on here put up a for sale thread and because its a very friendly forum where everybody gets on with each other then that price is set in stone. As soon as anybody puts a parts thread up then the vultures are circling and people seem far too keen to pay the asking price, I remember when Dave moss broke his car and the prices he was asking were extortionate but because it was off "yum" then nobody questioned them and it was a mad scramble with everybody dying to pay these ridiculous prices. So in a way we are victims of our own success on this forum, if the price you see isn't what you like then either make an offer you deem to be acceptable or leave well alone. Thanks for the post on my for sale thread Karl cheers
Ammended mate, wasnt aiming this at you either but seeing them and the gearknob ( which is still available at a thrid of the price! ) just got me thinking and wanted to see other peoples views.

It sounded like it but no hard feelings. Tbh I have to agree with you, the parts these days are too expensive but if you don't pay it somebody else will. The thing that pisses me off the most is these sellers on eBay saying such part is no longer available from ford when it is. That really winds me up.

          spot on Dave

I begrudge paying the price for some parts but as said if it needs it then that's the price I have to pay, god knows how you lot afford to mod it and run them. I cried paying £100 for a diff mount

Thats my point Ben, some people cant afford to pay the prices, then cars get left un finished, broke or people are put of buying in the first place

I saw not long back a used front spoiler do £300! ( ripply as fook to me aswell ). Now IMO should of been £50 - £80 but someone paid it! ( may not of sold granted as people bid up stuff ) but WTF

Karl I do agree but I didn't take sub standard bits into consideration, look at it another way, you've seen that auralis one up for sale at £24k for at least a year now, if someone buys that it doesn't mean its worth it, hence why no one has bought it.....

As for the modding game if you can't afford don't start it, whether its a cossie or another marque you will always find the same people, but then at other times people are their own worst enemies with changing the goal posts all the time.

Some of these prices are mental but then again Karl how much did you want for those 2nd hand wheels as for the nomads etc I remember paying £90 for rears £45 for the indicators and £15 for side repeatersif only I had bought a few sets at the end of the day you have to try I suppose and if they don't sell you know the price is 2 high so reduce to suit the market bit like your number plateneed to get some of my spares up for sale lol

I paid £15 for a pair of brand new gen front ambers and sold 1 to Mrs Duckworth for £100, A local Ford needed one quickly so that's the price they had to pay. Yes a piss take but it had to be worth my while to split my pair

Ford are the ones to blame for not supporting us

Them wheels were £700 cheaper than buying them new and are as new, so the price was fair, not like i put them at the same new price eh!

I always try to price things fairly, but obviously i need to join the party lol

I have paid my fair share of high prices tho , as sometimes you have to

I was watching two sets of front ambers on eBay yesterday one went for £90 and the other for £102. They were used as well not new ones, and the same seller.

That was Phil Saunders selling them

If you don't want to pay the advertised price then dont buy the product and Karl put the shoe on the other foot if you had the parts they would prob be the same price
