i broke the complete car and sold all the parts ,
gear box , diffs, drive shafts , suspenion, scs beam, fuel set up, stack dash ect ect , i sold the shell trimmed, my escort only had 20k miles from new, the man that baught it then built it into a std car again, i kept the engine for my track car , which i melted a piston in, that engine got re built into a 2.2 stroker then and is now ready for the fiesta .

i think these cars aren't a great idea to spend loads on because you cant leave them anywhere which means its is a garaged 99% of the time. I have stopped using my escos these days because i can never just go to a friends and park it up for the night and go have some beers and pick it up in the morning, i cant go to my girlfriends for the night and leave it in the road.
all these things just make me drive my van all the time even tho mine is fully working, taxed insured and MOT'd. i don't think i've used it since fireworks night to behonest i cant see a time when i can be arsed to get it out again. im just trying to pluck up the guts to sell it.

I am generally pretty sensible when it comes to money. I am not materialistic at all but the one thing I have always hankered for is an EsCos. After starting my first "proper" job I saved like mad for a year and put down a big deposit on my first place. Getting my house had to come first. My mortgage payments aren't sky high, and my thoughts were that my salary will naturally increase, so this will allow me to save more money on the side as time goes on.
I was originally intending to hold off buying an EsCos for a few years, but when mine came up with my ideal spec and very good price, I knew I'd regret it if I didn't buy it. I have a plan of what I need to do to get it perfect, and it'll take about £5K over the next few years. The one thing I have promised myself is to work on the car in stages every winter. That way I'll be able to use the car every year for 6 months from April to September. I know I'd loose interest if it was sat in the garage for over a year not getting used.
If my circumstances change and I am in desperate need of money, I am sure I could break my car for more than I bought it. I don't think I'll ever need to do that though
