bmw x5 or 5 series?

i know its not ford but as i know a few of you on here have got bmw,s i just wondered what would be the best 2nd hand buy x5 or 5 series?.......

ive just bought a metallic grey 05 pate x5 3.0d sport..has 20" sport wheels,every extra exept zenons ie sat nav,tv,heated elec seats etc with 103 k on clock for 10,495 so much car for the money and 30.1 mpg combined!! will keep it a while and get an early new shape 1 soon.. love it!

5 series over an x5 mate x5 suffer with lots of water leak problems which could cost a fair bit to sort out, the last one i did cost our customer 1,800 quid

couldnt afford that if it went wrong! i had an x5 in the boom & loved it but im sure it cost a lot in fuel, its either a 2004 x5 with 85k or a 520 m sport 2008 with 85k if i can get a cheeky loan

i love my x5 dave had it 3 yrs and never missed a beat you can borrow it for a weekend if you want and i bet you wont want to give it back

Love are E60 530D Adam knows ares well top man to know when you have a BMW

but i would say the 530d is better on fuel than the X5

520d is ideal if you want the economy, but love the way the mapped 530d goes!

me & the wife sat in a 525 auto m sport earlier & she went all oooooooh on me sitting in the leather! ha ha bless her!.. but i think if i can get into the 520 with 177engine its cheep to run & 0-60 8.3 secs & it says 47 mpg in urban mode where i think the x5 is 25mpg so big difference

525 just lacks the kick that the 530 gives, 525 is a strangled 530 anyway I think so may aswell get a 530!
