  • Honest Turbo advise please...

Ok, In my search for 380-400bhp in my 2wd saff im aiming for the following spec:

Standard 205 block and head recently rebuilt
    BD14 Inlet Cam and Verniers
    4x4 Inlet Plenum
    Siemens 55lb Injectors
    044 pump
    Full 3" exhaust
    Air filter
    500 cooler
    Ally rad

Now then, I was going for a T34.48 with a chip to suit...... BUT...... A friend of mine who broke his cossie a year ago has a GT30 and will let me have it for a decent price.

My question is... Will a GT30 be overkill for my spec, or will it do a job?

    Cheers Billy

T34.63 housing. You would be better asking your tuner I would have thought.
    Thanks Mark.

T38,gt30 is what you need a t34.63 will be maxing out at 400bhp and if your going to that extent go for a 200 block with valve cut pistons to get beefier cams in it

for 380-400 running 55s id go for a rollered t34 for near 400bhp and the drive would be very good

This sounds like what I have been planning. Roller bearing T34.63.

P.s, was your Cossie on the cover of fast ford Feb?

I had a T34.48 on my old spec engine, made 416 BHP and the drive was brilliant!! Loads of punch and not laggy!!

How much REAL difference is there between .48 and .63 on a T34?

                    Lag? Boost? etc......

Anyway, with a Std 205 block, I wouldn´t go much over 400 bhp.

                      T34.55 IMO

I dont do loads of miles any way mate, but the turbo lasted for me and had no problems at all.. was running around 30-32 psi.

I then decided to go for more power, stuck a Gt30 on and cracked my block after a few miles

I am under the impression from other members on here a T34.63 (bigger than a .48) would max out at 400bhp Mike what was the rest of the spec mate

Was it a long studded block?
