Me : Hi, can i have a oil and fuel filter for my Escort Cosworth please.

Parts Guy : Sorry we are out of stock.

Me : Can i order one of each please.

Parts Guy : Sorry we have a minimum order quantity of 10.

Me : But i only want one. Can you hold on stock as i know other cosworth owners who would also buy them at some stage.

Parts Guy : Sorry, but my boss will not put these on stock. But i can have the 10 if i like.

Me : Arrrrgggghhhh


I cann't believe that even service parts are difficult to get hold of now! I've spent a fortune there over the years. Rant over!

I'm quite lucky in my local dealer used to be an RS dealer and the parts guy is the same one from all those years back so he has an understanding, but even they have the minimum order rule now

Have you tried Quicks of Broughton
Its where I started going once M53 went down hill. Just finding a parking space was hard when I used to go there.

Just ask for a EFL600 filter, then they have in stock, as we use this on many Fords. I have used this on Cosworth for 5 years whitout problem

Never had a problem getting old car filters individually off a franchised ford dealer as long as the part is still serviced.

I go to the one by the Birkenhead Tunnel and they're just the same.........................don't give a crap about the RS models, unless it's the new one!!!

we have this at ours. a young ish guy doesnt care about anything under £100..

but we have an old guy who will get me anything in and normally give abit of discount as he remembers my dad when he was into his mk 1&2 escorts.

well nice guy even gets in the odd 1 bolt and stuff.

I used the Birkenhead dealer when they were on the other side of the flyover many years ago, very helpfull with the old stuff back then.
