  • General Question - Tyre Choice 225/45/16

Looking to replace my Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres shortly and have been looking around for some suitable replacements.

Looking at mid range priced tyres and have been looking at these two, as my top 2 choices so far...

    Falken FK452
    Toyo T1R

I am favouring the Falken at the moment although a friend has recently had Toyo T1R, and at first he wasnt impressed but after 800 ish miles he now says they feel almost as good as his old Goodyears.

I just wondered if any one has used both and which one they prefer?
or if there are other better options at similar money?

To fit standard Escort Cosworth wheel, 225/45/16

    any thoughts?

I have the Toyo's on mine and this is the second set, I like them great grip in the wet and dry and a very reasonable price. How they compare to the others I can't tell you that as that's all I've had

Try the Falkens to be different .

I've got the Falkens on my BMW daily driver, happy with them on there. In the same position as Ben though, I havent tried the other 2...

I have the falkens on mine at the mo,can't fault them. I've also had toyos in the past too, can't say there's a huge difference in them... Go on camskill.co.uk for the toyos, they were on offer a couple of weeks ago at £75 each.

At the price level i've never heard a bad word against the Falkens .............. and they are a Dunlop brand so can't be all bad

I'll be fitting Continentals on mine next. Don't fit Avon's, they are shocking, that much I do know.

Continentals on mine at the moment. Quite happy with them and they really look good IMO.

I'd avoid the Paradas. They're terrible in the wet and Cossies tend to wear either the outside or inside edge, and given that these are handed, it precludes swapping them off the wheels and moving them around the car to pro-long their life.

I did look at the Parara but I dont think they do it my size anyway, same goes for Michelin Pilot.
