Hi all just thought I should let you all know. A friend of mine has just rung me saying that in the last 3 weeks 2 escort cossies have been stolen In the essex area. They broke in to the the houses and stole the keys.

The owners both had the standard ford alarm system on them Don't really matter when someone has the keys I guess

Ford tibbe picks have been freely available for over 10 years so its nothing new.

The pick will only undo the lock, it wont bypass any decent alarm or immobilisor.

They take a while to learn to use. I know as i have one did a short automotive locksmith course on leaving navy and even with that you still need hours and hours of practice.

The bigger threat is someone picking or bumping your house front door to get the keys.

yes nothing new wazza............ but theres people who decide to buy a cozzeh and have not got a clue when it comes down to what there is out there that can bypass stuff.

now i know for a fact there will be proper cars with ford security only that one of them bumplocks can sort no trouble atall,your better to know what can happen than wonder why you never knew about it.
and regards a alarm any robber would love to tow a free cozzeh away never mind drive one.

they'd need to tow mine because the battery is completly fooked and the petrol gauge is below the red box lol! (i jump started it the other day before anyone points out it would be below the box with a fooked battery)

Ford locks can be done with a screw driver within 10 seconds. My mate was very, very good at it and showed me once just how shit they are If a thief wants your car they will get it

Cozzfather, my point is there are plenty of easier, quieter and quicker ways to get access to a cossie than a tibbe pick. In fact i would expect such a pick would be used in statistically irrelevant number of cossie thefts.

Destructively, just use a screwdriver as said or go in house for keys.

If your house is broken into for keys then what are you supposed to doIf they are that desperate and come in tooled up then they can have the keys as would not put family in danger
