E-Bay Scammer

Just putting this out there to make everyone aware, my mates Dad who lives in Spain bought a BMW X5 3.0d off ebay this week and paid a 10,000 euro deposit only to discover it was a scam. The setup and email process was VERY believable I have to say, the bank account details are below relating to the transaction, the scammers obviously not my mates Dad's...

I dont care if I get flamed for saying but FFS how stupid do you have to be to send a 10k deposit for a car you've never seen and just bought off of ebay!

This is the reason scammers are rife....as there is always someone who'll hand over 10k without even seeing the car they bought from an internet auction site.

I totallly agree... Shows that the scammers are more clever than the prospect buyer... No deposit whatsoever and payment in full at collection of the goods... Particularly for goods that you have to collect such as a car!

I agree entirely but he genuinely thought he was dealing with some sort of ebay administered holding account!
