  • soon to be starting ion the escort again but im stuck

with the new year comming and the escort has its new home im going to be starting it again and going to put the evo away as im undecided on what to do with the jap crap but with regards to the escort im unsure on which way to go

ive already sold the 10 inch wheels as i fancy a different wheel due to its new colour but first thing is rear beam and front end to get it rolling again

now the car will be used as a road car mainly but also some strip use so is it worth me going for the full mk motorsport wrc rear beam and struts, if i do im going to have to have a custom fuel tank made as i want a tank underneath the car as i need my boot space for gearbox pumps, but with the wrc rear end it will give me chance to widen the inner arches to give me more clearence for wheels but id have to use alloy uprights but can what brakes do i use then as i need a hand brake aswell also what do i do about a roll bar as id need ot et this fabrication done before i start to repaint the underside for the 4th time lol

or do i just go for a 6 degree beam but then i carnt run as wide wheel as i wanted to

isnt mk motorsport beam just suited to full on track cars?
SCS beam would be what most will say to use,

Would you really want to spend all that money if it is just for road use? But then if you can afford to do it then go for it. Would be an awesome set up for road or track

Thought the same scs beam should be more than enough for on the road and a few track days

I'm in same position with mine Rich, I want to keep the 10Js so need to fit turrets and wrc cradle. But means cutting rear cage off etc. So might just fit an SCS beam and the Montes.

problem im having is i carnthave an adjustable beam with 10s as my arches have been modded for std beam

hence wrc route option, the whole front end is going to be adjustable anyhow but i need to start on the back end first

Unless youve got loads of cash kicking about i wouldnt bother. Plus it will add a hell of a lot of work onto your shell thats now ready to have normal parts bolted up to it. Stick with a 6deg rear beam and 9" wheels

problem is the wheels iwant are 9.5

im trying to work out how much itscosts and by the looks of things its only a little more than a 6 degree beam anyhow just a bit of fabrication to be done and becuase i have to do the underside anyhow i dont mind doing more work on the shell as long as i dont damage the outside lol
