From what i understand, Ford sold some shells with a different chassis number range to various motorsport companies and i think generally anyone that waved some £ notes in their face. These were then built up to whatever spec they wanted and registered as Escort Cosworth's with the DVLA whenever they were completed.
Some say its good they were not built by the factory, others say it bad. Who gives a fuck as long as its done right and works. Lets face it that most cossies have altered a fair bit in their time anyway !
Mine looked sound when i bought it and i cant fault it. Saved a few quid as well which is always good.
That's the way i understand it anyway - might be wrong tho !

Ahh fair enough, thats cool then mate, as you say as long as it's done right and works as it should I wouldn't care who built it! I actually think it's probably a good thing that Ford DIDN'T build them with some of their standards!!M3 CSL is here!
