Do you use a gasket of any sort between 2 pieces of a 2wd exhaust manifold?

I'm new to the cosworth engine so little things like this I am unsure of,

I am using a 25mm stainless spacer to fit a gt series turbo, is there a gasket to go between the main part of the manifold and the trouser section normally or does it just seal on the flange face?

Also does anyone know the thread size for the trouser piece to manifold bolts?

I asked jim the other day and he just no. Just make sure you clean up the two faces with sand paper first.

As per loader clean up the faces good and bolt up!
