  • Federal RSR Track Tyres Anygood??

As above supposed to last longer longer before going "off" compared to 888's and there resonably priced. Has anyone any experience with them?

    Thanks Danny

i was looking at them earlier aswell, and about to ask the same question.

the RS595 prices up nicely with a nice tread pattern, Federal give it a nice write up themselves but woiuld be nice to have some 'real' feedback

we use them on the mk3 mx5's we race . Really good and durable and loads more stickyer after 1 heat cycle . loads more grip than the Hankooks we have to use on the mk1 mx5's . Infact so gripy for the underpowered mk1 it makes them ni on impossible to fall off track and a bit boring

so could be an ideal tyre to stick on the 16" clio track wheels?

nice light car and a good price for a tyre, makes it seem worthwhile.

would work really well on that kelv . Ideal power to weight . If you go the whole hog and shave them , you wouldnt beleive how much harder you can push it

for the mk3 we have to use
Federal 595 RSR (size 215x45x17)..... shaving new tyres down to 4mm tread . Stops the treads folding and moving on track and stops overheating the tyre . Worth about half a sec on track .... but of course you would never time yourself on a track day ... i am taking the mk1 on the 19th to the rs day . Running a passneger seat as well if anyone wants a ride ... Not as quick as the cossie on straights , but you would be suprised at how many cars hold you up on the twisty bits

yeah . got the bug big time julian . Even contemplating on selling the cossie as i have no time to use it come summer times . It racked up a dissapointing 55 miles last year . Most of that was driving in and out of the workshop i think . Shame as it is finished with the big engine , group a billie coilovers and mahoosive brakes

Shame if the Cosworth has to go but if the racing is giving more satisfaction then it seems reasonable to let the Escos go ................ i'm sure Kelv would have it off you as he desperately needs an Escos

Got any pics of your mk3
