Problem is you may get down about the state it has gotten into and regret buying it hoping it will be the car it once was. I had an old Saph Cossie that was stolen and bought another thinking it would be the same, but i was never happy
The plan was to finish a 1965 VW restoration for a customer, then start my 1962 VW Split Screen 3.6 Porsche 964 powered Camper.BUT if ,as I think you have a point, my old Escos is not how I remember her then its into the workshop, full strip down and re-spray and we start all over again. Thinking about it, thats probably the best thing to do then I know the cat is 100 % again. Then start my camper. Condition does not worry me at all. It looks like you guys will help source any parts I need on this Forum so ......lets see.....

Not this way, I would keep the 911. As to the cage, I'm not bothered about that either. It wont be an every day car, just a retired rally car garage queen

BUTI have just spoken to him and I dont think he is going to sell. I have made an offer, which , to me might be to much , but again I just dont care. I want my old car back. I didn't think there was a chance of finding it ever again. I think he might have the idea of slitting the car to sell the parts. Who knows............
He is going to call me back Saturday.
So I will just have to wait and see
              Frank.

There are 2 explanations......One I wont go into
The other is that a 45 year old x services man is shaking at the thought of buying his old car back.
                    How lame is that.

I know where your coming from. TBH i have offered him £xxxx and thats it. At the very worst I could always build another one. I have a great 530 bhp 911 and I didn't actually expect to track the old girl down. So if he says no, nothing lost , I'm still looking for an ESCOS but maybe not right now.
                        Thanks anyway.
