could be getting a 7 1/2 twin plate carbon clutch for the mk3 just waiting on a price, has anyone used them, i was told i can do full load launches and it will take all the track abuse i can throw at it, are they really that good, bet the gut hasnt seen me launch lol

A lot of the rallyX guys use Carbon clutches. I did look at Carbon/Carbon clutches but at 3000 quid they are simply outwith my budget. I have heard that some good second hand parts might be available but i've not checked up on that.
I agree with your choice of 7 1/2", much lighter and reduced Moment of Inertia, combined with a good flywheel, up to 12kg can be saved.

I have one lol.....
you re-shim them carl, you measure the stack height and adjust with a shim accordingley....the wrc one is 200mm onto a unique flywheel.....they do last longer but we've never had any trouble with paddle clutches.....

I have used Tiltons tripple carbon awsome clutch, I have also used Exedy tripple carbon this has 3 carbon discs and the other parts are metal so is limited by these, It is a nice road clutch,
The Tilton is a all out race clutch, Let it cool down between launchs as this will make it last longer.
