Hate to sound snobbish but im actually glad its going. Have worked in the aftermarket tuning industry since I was 17 (seems like a long time ago now ) and I remember all the stupid stuff Max power did in the name of cruisers.

Burn out competitions in front of the houses of parliment. Coaxing the police into chases (when finally stopped, the max journ said to the cops "Do you know who I am???" he got everything he deserved as he was coked up at the time), all the crap and shit that came from plastic unuseable cars... The real clincher for me was featuring a car with no engine what so ever!

Max has done enough to ruin our industry for us. Let it burn.... I won't shead a tear....

i used to get Maxy P back in the day,i remember the escort mk2 from essexshire with the cozzeh donkey and the tiger stripes...........yep it was that long ago maybe 92. thing was it started good like novas with 2 ltrs droped in and mantas with turbo engines,intergrales to group a spec and stuff like that but then it started going shit and i'll explain how and why.

the world started changing,theses new journalists started getting snidey and acting like prize fucking dickheads,they would slag off someones car in the mag and type total bollocks.
then the council estate element started getting in,they drove kitted cars nailed together with woodscrews and putty and aerosol painjobs and i saw good cars totally fucked up by people wanting a max power look and not having the skill to do it properly.
I used to buy and sell the sort of stuff max p featured in the early days but when i started seeing there shit stickers on stuff i knew they had the arses thrashed off and i wouldn't buy it on principle as them nob heads couldn't afford to do drugs,get pissed and modify a car correctly.

i went upmarket and max power went down market,ok i'll admit about 3 years ago it seemed to change and yes my was in the mag but the reputation was tainted by then.

Maxy P aka Lax Bowels ruined it self imo,99% of readers out grew the mag and other mags keep churning out the same format which sells just like it did back in the 80's but not in the same numbers due to the internet taking it away. So i reckon other car mags will go under as people can't afford to spend or won't spend when the info's on the internet.
