Every time im on the net lately i keep looking at Porka's!


Its something ive wanted for the last few years but RS's have always stole my heart. A few thinkg over the last few months have made me think life's too short and you should do stuff when you can, so is it now i leave RS ownership full time and enjoy something different??


Ive got my PERFECT escy and its taken 7 years to find, but is it the usual winter blue's we all suffer, or is it time to move on

Every Escort owner looks at Porsches once in their ownership imo it's cause we spend Porsche money on our Escorts and realize they are more reliable, etc. I would love a 996 turbo, but they will be Escort money in another 3-5 years and not very practical if you have a family, etc

Rent a 996 for a few days, drive it about and see if you like it. Drive the escort for a few days and realize how much more you prefer it

I spen the best part of 2 hours at work yesterday looking on PH at 996 turbos... - so, so so tempted, but think I should ne sensibel, and put the money into our house
Give it a year or 2 though, and I honestly think i'll be in one...

the 996 c's arent as reliable as you may think.the wet sump engines(all but the turbo and gt range) arent very good and have alot of issues

i was seriously thinking about getting one until your old black car popped up lol.

the c4s are good looking cars Karl but you may miss the power, so maybe a cheaper turbo car would be better.

I would love to have a back up car sat next to the Escort for when it's not well or just to take some of the pressure off it........ especially for longer trips as the Escort isn't that well suited to epic trips

I do have a bit of a crush on my mates yellow GT3 and i think i would defo have that over a Turbo as more of a drivers car

All that said if push came to shove i would have a CSL over any 996 Porsche.. it's all academic anyway as with my mortgage it's just not going to happen anytime soon if ever

Ive got a 996 turbo and it is the best car i have ever owned, just so useable and power is so smooth throughout the rev range. Sadly Im thinking of selling it as I just dont use it enough, If your use to a big powered escort I would only look at turbos and even then they need a remap to make them properly quick.

Sorry but the rear wing on that silver car is horrific and laughable

Do like Neil's one though ........... if it was to be my only car i would be tempted by the turbo for the big power kick, but if the Escort was staying then GT3 without a doubt of the two but still think CSL is a better all round proposition
