  • What's Your Aim In Life?

I've been thinking for a while what I actually want out of life and I really do not know when I was younger I just lived life every day, out all the time, shows, cruises, meets, etc, but since my Saph Cossie was stolen in 2002 and I literally lost everything I've had nothing pulling me back into that life as I've been to a few shows, etc and just got bored and really don't know what to do with myself.

I wanted an esc cos, got it, wanted a big tv, ps3, etc, got it, have my son who I see as much as possible. I just seem to be lost in time and just waiting to get older. I have no ambitions or goals, except making sure my son has some cash when his older and is happy now.

Who has aims in life or are you like me and just throwing life away being bored?

Not got aims specifically, but as long as i earn enough to buy the things we want and to do things we want then i'm happy. I want to have our mortgage paid off by the time i'm 45, and were on target to do that before then.

I was a bit like you before, out all the time with mates and the mrs, working all week then spending all weekend. Then my mum died 5 years ago and I kind of changed, I proposed to my girlfriend just after she died and we've since had two kids, although we're not married yet - that's on the cards soon though as we're beginning to save and plan for it.

I can't say that i'm bored at all, i don't mind my job (sure it would be great not to have to work) and I have good friends and family around me. Looking forward to the next few years to be honest, getting married and watching our kids grow up.

i've never been that ambitious about striving forward, for me its about being content with your lot

i'm happy for me and my family to stay healthy and have enough money do enjoy a few things in life, sure i'd love to be rolling in it but i'm not and never gonna be but i've got a job a house some good mates and some nice toys so i'm grateful for that

if i do get down i allways think of my younger brother who was killed in a bike crash aged 30 and although it makes me sad it also makes me grateful for every day things are going well

i allways like to have something on the go though, a holiday, bits for the car, a day out what ever so long as its something to look forward to

no real aims in life, just want to pay off the mortgage so I can take an easier job with less hours so I can spend more time with the family and my toys.

Not bored at all we pretty much do what we want and have what we want, the kids are happy and the misses doesn't work, we are lucky to have a good lifestyle

You have hard a bad time. Losing the cossie was probably hard right enough but you need to put it behind you. Find something you really like and want and focus on that.

Personally i just want to see tomorrow. Everyday is a bonus for me.

Not really spoken about this but maybe it is time i did....
You might laugh but when i was 40 i thought i had a bit of wind and ended up in a clinic in Africa. A SOS plane took me to johannesburg and they decided i needed 5 bypasses...(yes 5). 2 days after the op i was walking about and went back home 13days later. Went back to work in 6 weeks. 3 years later i suffered a blood clot and that caused a stroke, again it was in Africa and another SOS plane back to Johannesburg. One of the bypasses had a leak and that was the cause of the clot. After learning to speak again i went back to work and 2 years later my father died and a week later i suffered a solo siezure. Went back to work again 4 weeks later.

Am i happy? sure . Shit happens and i am happy to see tomorrow. Hopefully i will get my license back around Christmas and i can go to the shows next year. My misses has been brilliant and without her i don't know what i would do. I want her and the kids to be ok incase something happens and that is what pushes me along.

I might delete this so read it quick before i change my mind....

never really had any aims mate

33 years young, married with a 5 year old boy, knee deep in a mortage 20 years to go on that
got a nice wee house 5 year old 3 bed detached house with garage.

i do like my job, more to do with the people i work with than anything else, wouldnt mind a change but that would mean a loss in wages, which i cant afford.

i'm always skint at the end of the month lol, just happy that everyone in the family is happy and healthy between that and having a nice wee house and a rs in the driveway, i'm happy.

really enjoy the gym and doing my thai boxing, maybe try something like that to get into mate, will keep you occupied.

i dont really have any goals either i dont really plan that far forward in life any more , i had a lucky escape when i was about 23 nearly got married , since then i` moved out of scotland , moved to canada , then moved down here to jersey in the CI , since then i have just stumbled upon and done stuff , became a qualified sky diver (40 jumps until i broke my tib n fibular ) tock up snow boarding , tock up rallying ,bought my escos go to music festivals

granted i dont own any property , i need to rent (as its about 180K for a dog of a flat here in jersey), plus i like the idea of if i get bored i would move somewhere else another advantage of being a plumber

my life changed when i was 23 now 29 i never thought you could get this much out life

so basicly , think of a few things and try them .... see if they change your life
