I cant think of the bloke i used last but if you get into the transport firms that collect and deliver cars from and to all over the country for the salvage places like Copart and Blue Cycle, that would probably be your best bet.

Best bet is to not be in a mad rush and you can sometimes get stuff moved about for next to fook all if they're using your job as a backload.

My mate got some kind of french piece of crap collected from Southampton and delivered to nearly the scottish borders for 90 quid
i'd like to meet the person who invented the term backload - they need to be killed - there is always a back load for someone visiting your area which ultimately effects the rate of MY out going load because it could be turned into someones backload
    one for the road?? ......

for a job like 300 mile,

i work out my fuel, a wage im happy with, so it may only be £240 for example, but for local jobs, i charge £1 a mile

Darren, this is me doing it for someone else as i have my own 4x4 and trailer, not myself needing to find someone to move the car for me

Not good. Sounds like this back loading malarky is a regular costly annoyance for you

Ahh right, in that case then, probably similar to what Andy does. Not only that, its good to get away from whatever every so often

how many of you hold your breath when the shogun with vosa written all over it lurks in your mirrors

they are getting shit hot on tugging car transporters like trany beavertails,a fella i know went through 2 of them inc the ebay special that even a escort on the back looked like it was hanging off
then he got a better one which was ok but the engine wasn't the higher hp one so it struggled so back on ebay it went until he got a all singing and dancing iveco daily that the nice men from vosa informed him was on its weight due to all the addings on without even a car on

back on ebay it went and most of the money recouped paid the fine and he now uses a local fella with a 7 1/2 tonner cargo as its not worth the aggro

Whats wrong with a tow rope ??? my brother towed his escort from paris to calais and then dover to chester all on a rope anyone beat that

i dunno even what the regs are these days as it changes and vosa don't give the answers, you can buy tow ropes from petrol stations but i dunno even if they are still legal to use as i did hear about using bars
