Tech Question - Cosworth loom question

Right i got a 2wd loom out of my saff donor car.

It seems that i only have 1 wire to the coil?

Am i missing something or is this right?

Anyway if it is missing then does anybody know the colours of the wires and where they should go in the loom as im going to have to repair before i put it in the car.

in this diagram the red wire in the drawing going to the coil is in fact yellow and black on the loom and its positive.. and you should also have a greenwire that is the earth for the coil which is also the wire that goes to the ignition amp and your rev counter green..

simple mate if its the yellow/black your missing take a wire of the ignion amp pin 4 if its the green do the same but come off pin 1 its best to find the broken wire if you can as you may have lost your rev counter

Yeah im missing the black and yellow wire.

So just take a wire from ign amp pin 4 to coil?

yes mate that will work fine but i would check to see if u get 12v at pin 4 at the amp as you seem to have lost a wire..

you should have a plug with these wires..

ground = brown

battery = red or red/blue

ignition switch = black

fuel pump = black/red

rev counter = green

these are the ones you need to connect to the car. if you put a continuity tester on the black wire on this loom plug and the other end on the wire on pin 4 of the ignition amp multplug you should have continuity which shows you would have 12v.. you could come off this black wire for your coil if you wanted mate

Right i've tested and came off the black with yellow wire for the coil.

i'm just making a brand new loom for mine at the moment... i know the wiring back to front lol

I noticed mine doesn't have the facility to use a knock sensor. Is that a bad thing?

does your map require a knock sensor? speak to who will map the car, some do some dont, i know my msd chip does require a knock sensor

hi ben theres two places to buy from, vehicle wiring products... or polevolt..

thanks dom only need a map sensor plug and ect plug and pins dont suppose you got extras ?
