        I thought the big tuners were moving away from low compression on YB as the "standard" thing for higher power units??

          of course it's possible! there's yb's with comp as high as 9 and above with more power. Mark Shead isn't running anything below 8 these days afaik. Correct me if I'm wrong on the last one though. Low comp is the safest and (maybe) the easiest way though.

            The last wrc cars ran a high compression did'nt they. They done so for a more rapid response out of corners etc,

              Hasn't CossieRich off PF got standard compression (and even bottom end I think) running near 500?

                Think he has 450ish bhp with a GT 30, standard head, standard bottom end but MAD's own spec cams?

                    Yes Rich's is more or less a stock bottom end, other than the piston crowns having the suitable cut-outs to accomodate the cams/valve lift.
                    His turbo is an internally gated GT3071

                      Depends on the management your running , as newer ecu's can be mapped more acuratly to stop det ... erm or summit.
                      Mark shead did tell me this when we went there with Dan's car but , it was a while ago and im a little hung over today. lol

                        thanks lads i have a L8 to run 8 injectors roller t4 hart inlet plenum with 8 greens 16 inlet cam 14 ex cam big ported head

                          It is possible like loader says if the management can keep up with it so to say. Ive dropped mine to 7-8-1 for 500 as per Harveys instructions and thats going with pectel
