Seems fairly priced for the mileage, mods and condition and if the repair was done properly (depending on how bad it was), why should this put you off?

          Max
What do you mean it's showing as having an insurance claim against it, I thought normal claims didn't show only if it's been written off
Other wise every car park scrape claimed for would show on the check

I called experian, and they said they didnt start catagorizing until '97, this was in '95,, thats correct minor stuff doesn't show on hpi, so this must have been a big one

I'm just advising people to show a bit of caution, if they know its no prob, but when the owners stating its clear... I think its fairly priced for a "hpi clear" vehicle, but not one thats listed..

I agree with Max but if the owner doesn't know thats a different matter, he may well be an unhappy bunny when he finds out

edited to say if it is on the register and the crash was in it's first year when parts were easy to come by it may well have been a big one

                    its a good shout Max.

at this point, if a potential buyer chooses to go ahead with the purchase then thats up to them.
it doesnt need to put anyone off of it atall if its been repaired correctly, but its nice to be armed with the info so you can make a personal judgement.

karl sent graham a text about this one instead of stripping the monte and I was tempted to go and have a look at it as it does look good value and them wheelswould fetch £1500 to the focus lads so in the end for me when i had taken the bits off i didnt need it would have been a cheap car

i used to buy stolen recovered rs's all through the 90's,if the car is on the vcar its on the vcar,if its been reclassified thats somthing else but yep it shows so i never saw the point of using autolign which removed the car off the vcar to condition inspected as it still hit the values.

i had rs's that hpi'd as stolen recovered (some even twice) but not written off and to this day have had cars that are cat fookin c that was very recent (2008) that didn't show on a new logbook and cars that have been stolen and recovered yet the insurers paid out but sold the car off and not recorded and i got the cars marker removed by Manheim who use Experian and do hundreds of thousands of cars each year.

its not a straight set of rules but one quick look at that car and i notice no door locks and no one ever fucked around with a mint escort cosworths door locks and plated them over unles they had been broken into
