  • Anyone ever ran a welded up 7 1/2 diff in a 4x4

    i have a 2wd rear axle complete with welded up diff, pondering weather to put it in the taxi

    1/4 mile 9.52 @ 146mph so far

    would hepl on the 1/4 not sure how it would turn though

        tricky one i reckon this as i doubt many people have done it to give you the low down im sure if its only for the strip it would be a lot better for grip mate

            id hate to think what it would do to the centre diff as you make the sharp turn from the firing up lane to the start line, and then again at the far end to turn back.

            but agree'd, it would be very good for the qtr mile.

                you can drive a 2wd with one up the raod sideways for as far as you want lol

                  JB has a welded diff to help him go sideways as both wheels spin at the same time. Useless for 1/4 IMO!

                      But my 2wd is welded up and its got more grip than an amsterdam prositute. But i'm sure shit tyres = big fun.

                        Yep, JB's is rwd. some Drifters use welded diffs as it keeps the wheels spinning at the same time.
