What sort of price are you all paying for insurance? Admiral, who I've been with for 11 years, want to up my premium by 50% at renewal, which doesn't please me much....

a lot will be to do with the value, especially if you have an agreed value in place then expect it to cost a fortune, when an insurance company could replace an entire car for £25k it wasnt too bad, nowadays though if they are going to have to pay out 50-60k or more then the premium will obviously reflect that, even a small repair would cost them a whole lot more if its even possible with lack of panels/parts and the costs of them,i suppose you cant have it both ways, the car increases in value but so does the premium :-(

Well, I have agreed value of £75k on it with Admiral. Last year it was £99.12, this year they wanted £179.30, but reduced it to £150.16 when I moaned. Yes, seems cheap, but the risk to them is pretty much nil, as I don't actually use the car - still only done 19k miles since I bought it new in 1994! The £150.16 seems reasonable, but I can't see why an increase of over 50% can be justifiable, no change in circumstances, 29 years NCB. I *hate* insurance companies with a vengeance!Jim
