  • Jacking up onto axel stands

This might sound really stupid to some of you guys but bare with me as I've never done this before!

Basicall I'm looking to take all 4 of my wheels off at the same time to give them a good clean and seal, but what's the best and safest way of jacking up the car to put onto 4 axel stands?
Where's the best jacking up point and where is best to place the stands under the car?

Pretty random question but I just want o do it as safe as I can to me and the car!

    Thanks

I usually jack the front up 1st on the arb bracket 1 side at a time and put the axle stands just behind the arb bracket on the arb mount (big heavy flat bit metal that the arb bracket bolts to )

Then on the back I usually jack it up on the back diff and put the axle stands on the back beam mount plates where they bolt to the floor

Should be perfectly stable on them

      rear diff for back

there jacking points for front but be careful when it up on axle on front or rear that when you do the other end of car as when jacking up that it dont pull car of the other axle stands

as the trolley jack pull back as it go up

          agree with this

i done the front, went to do teh back and the car slides backwards and fell off the stand, luckily it was a bare shell and i just managed to wedge myself between it and the garage wall, now if going on 4 stands ill support the front with the hoist lol

just be carefull and watch what the car does when jacking if the front or rear is on stands, ideally the jack should move not the car but itsnot always the case

It's always been popular on Merseyside to put a pile of bricks under each corner of the car to support it whilst the wheels are removed,

As the rest, rear diff and I used a thin wooden block on the jack and put it under the ally front xmember........NOT the engine.

Then the axle stands under the d plates ( rear) and the axle stands under the front anti roll bar bushing cups to car floor.
